attention all betty crockers, paula deens and martha stewarts

...laura unnasch has a new kitchen, so you better watch out! hah.
i love this plate because i can switch out the ribbons throughout the year. i copied annalee. annalee, thanks for the link to "the write plate!"
view from living room
i just put pitchers and serving plates that i already had on top of the cabinets. i didn't want to spend money for that area. it works fine.
and, of course, i had to show my little corner area again with my favorite "U" cutting board. the "U" candle and trivet (made with a picture from anna and my trip to greece) are from my friend, anna.
little nitch
eating area. i love the pillow window!
the dining room is off to the left.
i love blue and white together! come on over and we'll put some food on this plate just for you!

gig'em, gig'em! whoop, whoop!

CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS, tEd!

My brother, Ted, just graduated in May from A&M (whoop, whoop, whoopity, whoop!) with a degree in Industrial Engineering. Obviously, I didn't get the brains of the family.

He is now in his 2nd month of working at Alcoa as an engineering consultant. An engineering consultant coaches engineers throughout the company on being efficient in their jobs. Most engineering consultants have been engineers first, and therefore, are normally a lot older than Ted, but Alcoa decided to hire 6 consultants (out of the entire company) that are right out of school.

Ted's ready to "whoop" the working world!
We give you 5 thumbs up, Ted!

SHOW US YOUR LIFE at Kelly's Korner Blog

For the first time I am participating in Kelly's Korner "SHOW US YOUR LIFE" (http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/). This week's feature is the WEDDING DRESS. Here are pictures of me in my wedding dress on the big day...June 28, 2008.
i found my dress the 1st and only day i went looking for one and i was out shopping by myself! i know what i like (and don't like, hah).

the lovely veil was the 4th, yes, 4th veil i bought. the 1st two i used during my bridal portraits and i didn't end up liking them. i ended up leaving my 3rd veil in austin and didn't realize it until i was on the way to get my hair fixed for the wedding! needless to say, i rushed in a wedding boutique, grabbed a veil and was out the door.
what a WONDERFUL day!

welcome to our happy home

hello from the happy homeowners! adam and i just bought our first house and we are loving it. it is in westside preserve (http://www.westsidepreserve.com/) in cedar park. come on in and take a look!
here we are in front of the house. pardon the unpolished look as the picture was taken after a long day of moving!
this tour is like no other because instead of beginning in the entry way, we are going to begin in my current favorite room--the master bedroom. here is the view you would have first walking into the room.
a view from the bathroom. the master is one of the rooms that i instantly fell in love with when we were looking at the house because of the high ceiling and the pillow window (my fav).
the rocking chair was a fab find from craigsist and i couldn't resist the little framed U, 1/2 off from hobby lobby.
i bought 3 plates from t.j.max for $4 each and then attached sheer ribbon to them using a glue gun.
the all-black lamps are a combo from target and garden ridge. this nightstand is a matching piece to our bedroom set but because the set only came with one, the other nightstand i bought off craigslist and it matches so well. lots of free time+new house+not wanting to spend a lot of money=craigslist addiction.
the look i was going for in the bedroom was the "french countryside." france in cedar park? that's right. thanks (or should i say "merci") for taking a peek into our home. more rooms to come!
