we are so fortunate

GRATITUDE
Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.
~Buddha~
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.
~John F. Kennedy~
i found some pictures of a mission trip i went on last year to the Dominican Republic and it is amazing the difference in life and lifestyle between the U.S. and the developing world. on the trip, i realized just how FORTUNATE we are. we have jobs to go to, schools to go to, medicine available, basic necessities such as clean water and food to eat...all LUXURIES in the developing world
this little boy doesn't need toys to have fun
this girl cannot walk, heartbreaking
in developing countries, they very often use river water for everything. here, some dominicans are using the very dirty river water to clean their dishesin one of the haitan refugee villages we worked in
the children in this village are getting a healthy meal to eat
