all thumbs up to hilton head! here is the bellman at our hotel, charlie. he was such a welcoming guy!
everyone rides bikes in hilton head. i loved it! it reminded me of amsterdam.
we took a ferry to an island that 200 people live on and can only be reached by boat. the island has an elementary school but no real grocery store or doctor's office!
this is where we stayed and it was magical especially for the price we paid--63 dollars, plus tax, of course, via hotwire.
the style of the resort and of hilton head was blue, white and red. i absolutely love those colors together!
adam and i headed for a few nights' stay in hilton head, SC. it is one of the most beautiful places i have been to...full of class, history, nature, and relaxation. it's a don't-miss of a vacation spot!
although there are many resorts and homes in hilton head, the town was planned to keep the area's unique nature preserved. even the turtles were thought of--hardly any streets lights because it's harmful for the turtles somehow (?).
there are no billboard signs. what a nice change of scenery.
buildings are required to be certain, subdued colors to blind in with the scenery or at least to not take away from the scenery.
there are beautiful moss, pine and oak trees everywhere. need i say more?
